The Joint Forces Pharmacy Seminar (JFPS), previously known as Combined Forces Pharmacy Seminar, is the largest annual event for the Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard pharmacy communities. Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians from the active duty, reserve, and retired communities, as well as civilian pharmacists and technicians assigned to Department of Defense(DoD) and Coast Guard medical facilities, are invited to participate in this three-day, education-filled event. The American Pharmacists Association, working with the DoD/Coast Guard Pharmacy Consultants and the JFPS Planning Committee, coordinates the education and meeting activities and serves as the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) provider.

This seminar has grown since its first meeting in 1994 and continues to grow with support from industry along with the number of quality educational and training activities. Attendees meet annually to learn and share solutions to challenges facing today's Joint Forces' pharmacy professionals. The meeting offers a variety of ACPE-certified continuing pharmacy education (CPE) and training programs, providing approximately 18 hours of CPE credit. The education opportunities provided include industry-supported certificate training programs, as well as, educational presentations and poster sessions focusing on mission-essential pharmacy operations. The abstracts from the poster sessions will be published in the Journal of the American Pharmacists Association (JAPhA).

In addition to the educational and training programs, attendees are provided an opportunity to interact with industry through a very robust exhibit and training program, with over one hundred organizations providing support. Participating supporters look forward to attending the meeting as an opportunity to meet and interact with DoD and Coast Guard pharmacists and increase their awareness and understanding of cutting-edge technology and services to providing quality health care to their patients. It is the meeting to learn about new happenings in this market! Face-to-face learning and sharing among JFPS participants, as well as attending service-specific leadership sessions, provides many opportunities for Service members to learn more about the practice of pharmacy in their respective service.
